ABOUT ME

I am nothing special really-just your run-of-the-mill surgical technologist with a background as an opera singer, graphic designer, professional football player, and manager (in that order). Following my progression of past career choices, becoming a surg tech made perfect sense…or no sense at all depending on your personal level of sanity. My other career choice was to become a rodeo clown, but I was told that bulls don’t find me funny at all (subsequently, I discovered that surgeons don’t appreciate my humor either).

I live with my husband in the Minneapolis/St Paul metro area. He is an engineer (and the logical one of our little duo) who faithfully supports me in all of my crazy endeavors. When I’m not rooting around in people’s body cavities for a living, I spend my time knitting, reading, volunteering, and running. I started this blog because folks always seem to be fascinated with what I do and I wanted to give them a peek into my world.  I also started this blog as an outlet to tell my crazy work stories to someone other than my husband because honestly, I’m not sure how many blood and poop-related stories you’re allowed to tell your spouse before it’s considered legitimate grounds for divorce.
